Parents Partnership

Expert-led workshops that equip parents with the tools to support
their sons to succeed in life.

Before my sons joined SYLA, I was looking for an organisation that would assist me in boosting their confidence, improving their academics in school, and keeping them busy from distractions in my neighbourhood. I can confidently say that SYLA was the best option for my sons. SYLA has added value to my sons’ lives by broadening their horizons and developing their leadership skills. – SYLA Parent

SYLA believes that it takes a village to raise a child. We work in close partnership with parents, equipping them with the knowledge, tools, and resources to play an active role in their son’s education and to support him to successfully and safely transition to manhood. We offer parents a vital support network, opportunities to influence positive change in their community, and trustee positions on our Board.

In addition to monthly coffee mornings, we offer a series of parent workshops, delivered by experts, covering a range of topics including:

  • Understanding school policies
  • Parent Governor training
  • School admissions & exclusions panel training
  • Child behaviour & development
  • Health and wellbeing
  • Safeguarding
  • Goal setting
  • Financial literacy
